Your 3 words...

ABC's Good Morning America has this really cool special every few weeks or so called "Your 3 Words".  Tons of video snippets that that tell your story in 3 words.  Here is a link .. (Scroll down to see previous weeks):

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Your3Words/

So I've been trying to think of what my 3 words would be.  I just haven't been able to decide.  It's been turning over in my head for weeks now.  What 3 words tell my story?  I just don't know at the moment.  It's been incredibly difficult trying to figure it out though.

A little prickly heat never killed anyone... YET!

So .. it's hot.  Really hot.  Like EXTREME hot and humid.  Miserable and awful.  I keep asking myself the question, "Why do you still live in Flori-duh?".  The heat is so oppressive, the economy is in the crapper - but it has been for years and years down here and the hurricanes bite hiney.  Seriously, if I could pick up my home and just move with it, I would have to get out of this oven.

Yes, I am totally complaining today.  I usually sit on the back porch with my laptop, but I can barely stand it out there.  Toss in some afternoon thunderstorms and you feel wet just stepping foot outside from the humidity.

Do you know what is worse than living in Florida with this heat?  Wearing a bra while living in Florida in this heat.  I even upgraded and bought bras with breathable material..... and the girls are STILL gasping for air.

All I've gotta say is............ where the heck is winter?  Seriously... bring it on.  I counted today.. at least 5 1/2 months left until the cool air moves back in..... I am not sure I am going to survive this summer if it doesn't let up soon!

Off to fan myself some more!

I'm totally in love...

I am hopelessly in love.... I received 4 new spoons yesterday of the "Embossed" pattern that are from 1882 - 128 years old!!  I convinced Jim into making them and oooh my gosh.. I'm in love.  Stunning floral lily pattern, super chunky and just beautiful.  I listed yesterday and one went in the blink of an eye.  The other is still hanging in there today.. but I've already been questioned about it twice today.  I am torn between keeping it or leaving it to sell.... *sigh*....

I'll post a pic here because who knows how long this last one is going to last in my shop!

Happy Memorial Day!

It's in the little things...

It's all the little things that never seem to mean much at the time but mean so much later.  Like fireflies... beautiful beacons of light flashing in the early night.  Do you remember chasing them around for what seemed forever and ending with a glowing jar at the end?  What wonderful fun childhood memories.  Florida doesn't have fireflies... or at least not waaaaaay down here in the south.  None!  We have mosquito's instead.  LOL

When I think of catching fireflies, we would scoop them up, try to catch them in mid air or pick them off of you as they land.  But it's a bug!  Why are some bugs okay to touch but other bugs send you running the opposite direction?  Like lady bugs.  Harmless pretty bugs with all those beautiful dots ... we pick them up.  Heck, we even blow them away and make a wish.  Why not OTHER bugs... I won't say what OTHER bugs I'm talking about because it will give me the creepy crawlies just thinking about it.  But why are these two bugs ok?  Hrmm...

Buggies or not, I sure would love to sit on the porch watching them light up the sky.  You always knew it was summer when you had sticky fingers from the watermelon, your feet were bare and your jar was full.

Chasing Fireflies,
MPCB

PS Father's Day key chains have come to our Etsy store. Yippee... :)  AND we were picked to be featured in the Treasury again last night but this time for our silver bracelets!

:)

All is right in the world.... my oldest son, Blaec (19), is home from college.  A giant sigh of relief.  For a kid who never spent more than a night away from home, the last 5 months have truly been difficult on Jim and I.  Our home has been so different with only Nicholas (14) here.

But... sssssh..... I have a secret confession to make.  I kinda got use to the quiet house.  No siblings fighting, one less person to deal with.. and half the noise was gone.  LOL

Even with the constant cell phone ringing, the loud music and the boys arguing.... all is now right in the world.  My oldest baby is home for the summer at least and everything is back to normal.

It all just makes you :)

Teacher Spoons...

It's so funny that the end of school year is here and it actually for the first time in forever, it doesn't really affect me.  The 19 year old is coming home from college this weekend... woohoo!  The 14 year old is home schooled, so he will continue throughout the summer.  But in the spirit of all those lovely teachers gifts, we are doing a teacher spoon.  It's a larger spoon ... either a tablespoon or a bouillon soup spoon with the quote, "Teachers plant seeds that grow forever".  A gal pal of mine stuck them in a pretty potted plant for each of her kids teachers as gifts.  Check them out in my Etsy shop (see link on right) if you are still trying to come up with that one perfect teacher gift!

Until tomorrow..

Did you hear that??

Did you hear that? It was the whooshing sound of time flying by! 16 days since my last post. I swear, I am usually so much better than this. I have been juggling so much lately, I just don't always know where to begin!

Did anyone notice that my Etsy store has no new sewing in it? Jim has totally taken over my time with his constant questions about this or that.  He is the utilitarian 1/2 of this equation and I bring the creativity.  I think I spend more time trying to plan what he is making next, than I do anything else.  I love him, but sometimes ya just wanna kill him! LOL Besides, when did I become the token silver polisher?

So... Very exciting that we finally were able to bring our spoon bracelets to Etsy.  They are stunning and I want to keep all of them for myself.  Each and every one.  I keep sneaking off with a few finished bracelets and he keeps having to go get them back to be photographed.  I have to come up with a better hiding spot.  Darn that Jim again!  ;)

Enjoy the new pics of my new "babies"... We have had so much fun creating them!

xoxo

Slow getting anything done....

Spoons have come to my Etsy shop. Thank Goodness, I finally got them done. It's a double edged sword though. I listed a bunch, sold a bunch and now I have to list a bunch again. LOL Don't get me wrong, I am all for making money, but holy cow it's exhausting dealing with that site. Their listing format bites hiney.

So .. very little is going my way these days. I am suppose to be listing on Ebay and I just don't. But is that really something new? LOL I have many beautiful summer dresses cut out and ready to be sewn togther... and I just don't. I am falling somewhere between the lines of inspired and just too tired to give a shit. KWIM?

As a source of inspiration to my fellow crafters, I wanted to pass on my most favorite quilt pattern site... http://www.quilterscache.com ... Thousands of free quilt patterns. I would love to get a little quilting done but, you know how it will go. LOL

I am totally on the self pity whining pathetic train this morning. Perhaps after breakfast, things will at least seem more promising that I might accomplish something today.

I am paying hard cash for anyone to weed my veggie garden... LMAO... Apply Within!!

Forged with soul....

Whew. About darn time. I finally started to stock my Etsy store. Of course I have only gotten a small handful of the copper cuff bracelets listed, but hey it's better than nothing right!?

So here they are... *drum roll*...

Very excited about them. We shall seeeee! Totally excited about upcycling the copper. They are so rustic and unqiue.

Buried under it all....

My God! How the hell can one person buy so much stuff with the intention of putting it on ebay but never get it all on there? I'm soooo buried under stuff! I think I am going to organize, get listing, etc. I don't. I'm so blah. I have ebay piles everywhere. Some here, some there, don't tell my husband about that other pile... etc. You get the picture.

I am taking a personal oath... Get 'er done! Ok.. not so much an oath as a kick in the personal pants.

Sheesh... I must be perpetually lazy. You would know this to be true if I mentioned how long it's been since I shaved my legs.

Off to find a web site about hairstyles for your knees...

PS.... -----------------> Follow that link over there and shop with me on Ebay, it would help get rid of my piles.. Hint! Hint!

Well... It is what it is...

So.  I finally had to give up my old posts.  I tried censoring them, but ya know how it is ... misbehave typing too much and there is no erasing that past!  LOL  So, here I am, a totally deleted blog.  It's like a brand new notebook.  Sharpen the pencil ... and away we go.
